Submission Fees

Submission fees are used to help pay for the costs of running this website, podcast, and other programming. Fees help to pay fair wages for our podcast editor. While the need for funding is high, we also resolve to keep fees low.

This project is run by a teaching artist (Rebecca Potts Aguirre). I am all too familiar with high submission fees. Even $30 adds up when you’re applying for many exhibitions and opportunities. This project is a labor of love. It is financially supported through generous donations, sales from our shop, affiliate income from our book recommendations, ads and other forms of sponsorship, and mostly my own investments.

We do not believe in crowdfunding on the backs of artists. We believe in supporting artists by offering a platform to share work and offering feedback for those who are not selected. To apply to our open calls, click here.
